Preserving Our Heritage: The Path Forward

The Critical Need

The Tibetan language is in a critical situation. Due to political restrictions and a lack of educational support globally, its decline threatens the very core of Tibetan identity, culture, and religious heritage.

A Spiritual & Cultural Responsibility

From a Buddhist perspective, the Tibetan language is the vessel for our tradition. Protecting the language means protecting:

Sacred Texts:

Preserving the original words of Buddhist wisdom.

Philosophical Depth:

Ensuring the nuances of our spiritual philosophy are never lost.

Collective Memory:

Safeguarding the identity of the Tibetan people for future generations.

Language is the very soul of a nation... as long as our language and culture remain intact, the spirit of Tibet will never die." — His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

Our Vision for New Jersey

In New Jersey alone, over 10,000 Tibetan and Himalayan people have participated in Seeds of Tibet programs. Despite this large community, there is no centralized institution for standardized language instruction or multigenerational engagement.

This gap threatens our community cohesion. To ensure long-term sustainability, we are working toward two primary initiatives:

1. Tibetan Cultural Center

Goal: $2 Million We are raising funds to create a permanent cultural hub in New Jersey. This center will serve as a home for:

  • Standardized Tibetan language instruction.

  • Digital language and cultural resource libraries.

  • Community engagement and cultural events.

2. Tibetan Weekend Classes

Annual Budget:  $19,000 While we build our permanent home, we continue our vital weekly education programs. Your support funds:

  • Program Staff Salaries & Stipends
  • Curriculum & Materials Development
  • Digital Platform Creation & Maintenance
  • Events & Community Outreach
  •  Evaluation & Assessment
  • Administrative Support & Compliance
